LOMA Open Mic Feature postponed!
February 8, 2016

Our show that was scheduled for Monday, February 8 at the LOMA open mic (at the Lincoln Public Library in Lincoln, MA) has been postponed due to the big, blustery storm that's hitting the northeast. Everyone stay warm and dry, and we'll let you know when it's rescheduled!

Locals Covering Locals
February 1, 2016

We are downright THRILLED to have been included on Volume 3 of the Locals Covering Locals series, organized and curated by the wonderful Red Line Roots. We cover an as-yet unreleased song by our friend Ian Fitzgerald, who also happens to kind of be the world's best songwriter. Many friends are on this record, including Krista Baroni, Allysen Callery, Ava Callery, The Meadows Brothers, Laurence Scudder, and Molly Pinto-Madigan. All of the songs are gorgeous, and you can download the whole thing for free! (You can also kick in a few bucks to help Red Line Roots continue their great work, if you're so inclined.) Take a listen at the link below, then check out Volume 1 and Volume 2!

The EP is Coming!

Our EP is almost ready! We're finishing up mixing and mastering, and hope to have it out by the end of the summer. In the meantime, here's a sneak preview of the track "Falling," written by Tracie.

Motif Music Award Nomination!
March 15, 2015

We're thrilled to have been nominated for a pair of awards from Providence's own Motif Magazine -- you can find us among good friends in the "Breakthrough Act" and "Folk Act" categories. Exercise your democratic right and vote!

Limelight Magazine Award Nomination!
February 1, 2015

We've been nominated for "Best New Act" in Limelight Magazine's music awards! It's an honor just to be nominated, etc. etc., but also pretty fun to win (or so we'd imagine). You can take full advantage of the democratic process and vote at this link, and see the full list of nominees here! Voting closes February 6.

New Video: The Ballad of Ida
January 30, 2015

Like thousands of other unsigned acts, NPR's Tiny Desk Concert is one of our dream gigs! And so when NPR announced the Tiny Desk Concert Contest, we had to enter. We filmed Steve's song, "The Ballad of Ida," in the proximity of a desk in Tracie's office building (one of the requirements for the contest is that you be at/near/behind a desk, not necessarily tiny). Watch the video on our music page or on YouTube!

Merry-ish OxMas to You!
December 24 2014

In the spirit of the season, but ALSO in the spirit of depressing folk singers, we have recorded a couple of Christmas-ish songs for your enjoyment! These include "Evergreen," written by Cardboard Ox's very own Steve Allain, as well as a cover of John Prine's flawless song, "All the Best," which Tracie vows to sing every Christmas season until she perishes. Listen to them on our Music page or directly on SoundCloud! Happy holidays to all, and remember it's your prerogative to reject enforced holiday cheer.

We got shows!

November 29 2014

We have a couple of very excellent shows coming up in December, during which we MAY bust out with some Christmas tunes. BELIEVE IT! On Monday, December 8 we're splitting a bill with the wonderful Michelle Cruz at Fort Foreclosure, the home/studio of Rhode Island artist WIll Schaff located at 164 Water Street in Warren. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. Then on Wednesday, December 17 we'll be playing from 9:00 - 11:00 pm at The Grange, a wonderful eatery/drinkery located at 166 Broadway in Providence. Tracie is very excited about this one since it's right in her hood! Check out our shows page for full details. We hope to see you before the year is through!

New Video: "All I Need" Live from The Spire Center

November 28 2014

We had SUCH a fantastic time opening for Cheryl Wheeler at The Spire Center for the Performing Arts in Plymouth, Massachusetts (despite getting to Plymouth too late to see Plymouth Rock...we weren't really in the Thanksgiving spirit yet anyway). Thanks to Matthew Clowney for capturing this video of our set-closing "All I Need," which we co-wrote earlier this year.

Big Reds Nomination!

November 24, 2014

We were honored to be recognized in the Big Reds (for favorite local duo) along with so many wonderful local artists. Voting happens at the link here! And if you haven't already, check out the rest of Red Line Roots, which is a huge supporter, promoter, and community-builder for New England musicians.
